ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Marianna Cortesi, an Italian classical pianist and professional piano teacher based in York, UK.
Whilst undertaking conservatoire training in Italy I occasionally supported junior students in the
preparation of their piano exams. This opportunity enabled me to develop a strong interest in
piano teaching, something that I started looking at as a potential professional career. For this
reason, I decided to further my knowledge and understanding of available pedagogical approaches
to music teaching and moved to the UK in 2017 to attend the MA in Music Education: Instrumental
and Vocal Teaching at the University of York. Since then, I have been delivering one-to-one and
group lessons regularly to students of all levels and abilities. For more information about my
